Gail Howard
Artist, Gardener, Potter
Gail has been a Rogers resident since 1969. Oil painting landscapes and floral motifs was Gail’s first artistic outlet.
Her next artistic endeavor was the creation of a perennial shade flower garden at her home which took ten years to complete.
After meeting and being impressed by Master Potter Jim Young at the War Eagle Arts and Crafts fair in 2002 she began taking lessons from him. After just one class she was hooked and now creates pottery in her home studio surrounded by her beloved Dogwood trees and garden.
Gail looks to nature for inspiration. When she hand builds with slab, she enjoys using leaves from various plants as forms to make one-of-a-kind platters, bowls and fountains. She often adds hand built frogs to her pieces for added interest.
Each piece of pottery she creates is kiln-fired twice, the last time to 2170 degrees. The glazes she uses are safe for all uses.
Gail hopes your purchase brings you many years of enjoyment.
